The music of Nicholas Ludford has been recovered only relatively recently. Few composers of his stature have been so comprehensively and so unjustly ignored for nearly five centuries. This recording presents one of his most accomplished ‘festal’ masses ‘Benedicta et Venerabilis’ and two of his extended antiphons.
